Thoughts on Work and Life

When work and life become the norm, things that were once insisted upon will gradually be abandoned, such as a book that was planned to be read or an article that was planned to be written. These things should have become a part of one's life or work, but often cannot be completed within the expected time. The consequence of this norm is that although one may feel rushed, nothing can be accomplished.

At first, I always tell myself what I will do next week, or try a new technique next month, always planning but not properly completing the current tasks. Over time, this month is delayed to the next month and ultimately remains unfinished, so I have to give up on some things I wanted to do. For example, tomorrow is Wednesday, according to the plan, I should have finished writing the article to be published tonight, but before 12 o'clock, I still haven't started. I didn't plan on writing it, and in fact, I feel like I can't write it, but after thinking about it, I decided to write a little bit, whatever I can manage.

Gradually, I realize that this norm in work or life cannot be attributed to procrastination. If something is important, anyone can complete it on time, just like homework when we were young. With the supervision of teachers, we basically finished it. It can be seen that procrastination is just an excuse for not wanting to do something. As the saying goes, habit becomes the norm, and after doing it many times, it no longer feels strange.

Whether in work or life, everyone will experience various comfort zones. In the comfort zone, there is no pressure in work and life, going to work and going home on time, eating and sleeping, as if work and life should be like this. In the comfort zone, other plans become less important, and there is not much difference between doing and not doing. As a result, many things that should have been done are abandoned.

Everyone has different choices, and it is important to choose to leave the comfort zone at the right time. Outside the comfort zone, there may be difficulties that have not been encountered before, there may be moments when you feel lost, and it may require you to give up previous achievements and start again. But when you experience these things outside the comfort zone, you will gain greater rewards and constantly motivate yourself to become a better version of yourself!
